蔡錦隆指出，大環境不景氣的時候，更需要推動愛心公益。

中秋節是中國人團圓的大日子，但許多人卻快樂不起來，尤其是今年中秋受到油電及萬物齊漲的影響，弱勢家庭更顯得抓襟見肘、雪上加霜。為關懷低收入的弱勢族群，在中秋節前夕，台中南天宮及立委蔡錦隆特地提供上百箱的愛心物資捐贈給太平新高里及宜欣里、北區金龍里，由里長接受再分送給該里的中低收入家庭，讓弱勢民眾也能感受社會關愛及溫暖，過一個溫馨的中秋佳節。
每年特定節日前夕，都會將包括白米、沙拉油、鹽及糖、飲料、罐頭等愛心物資捐贈給台中市低收入家庭，捐贈善舉已行之有年，南天宮這次結合立委蔡錦隆的愛心，將上百箱的愛心物資分送給需要弱勢家庭，讓收到物資的民眾非常感激及溫馨。
金龍里長姚士偉表示，經濟不景氣很多弱勢家庭特別需要關懷，實在令人「揪感心」。
推動社會公益不遺餘力的南天宮，吳主任委員表示，每年祈福法會之後將愛心物資捐贈給弱勢團體，今年特別感謝立委蔡錦隆的共襄盛舉，將愛心物資運送到需要的鄰里，讓捐贈行動圓滿達成，所有民眾都能受到關聖帝君的仁義慈悲。
台中市太平區新高里里長江姿樺，代表接受蔡錦隆服務處助理捐贈愛心物資。
立委蔡錦隆指出，大環境不景氣的時候更需要推動愛心公益，讓我們在中秋節前夕將物資送到需要幫助的民眾手裡，更顯得特別有意義。
同時，身為立院的社福及環衛委員會，錦隆也將持續關注社福法案的推動，也希望透過這次的拋磚引玉，化作更大的社會力量，讓更多機關團體持續關心需要幫助的弱勢家庭，使我們社會更加的和諧與溫暖。
