【施旖婕／綜合外電報導】玫瑰花莖有刺，但玫瑰花也是情人之間最浪漫的禮物之一，不過美國科學家研究後發現，男性生殖器原本不是「雞」，而是「刺蝟」。

科學家們追蹤動物們的演化基因發現，自古以來的雄性動物，如同貓、老鼠及黑猩猩，生殖器上原本都帶著刺。但在生物演化的過程中，最後才逐漸消失。人類也是一樣，原本男性陰莖帶著刺，最後卻退化了。

科學家們指出，人類雄性的陰莖刺，之所以會退化成「平滑雞」的主因，在於人類求偶模式的改變。陰莖刺退化，顯示人類交配的刺激感大為降低，做愛時間也相對拉長，有助於強化一夫一妻的和諧關係。而沒有刺的陰莖除了可以減少對女性生殖器的傷害，也可以讓人類比其他物種維持更穩定的兩性關係。
