來自台灣的年輕指揮吳曜宇在貝桑松國際青年指揮大賽中脫穎而出，進入總決賽，他將與來自德國和匈牙利的指揮在21日競爭冠軍寶座。

2年一度的貝桑松（Besancon）國際青年指揮大賽（International Competition for Young Conductors）暨音樂節，今年是第53屆，共有來自5大洲46國的296位15到35歲的青年指揮報名初選，14國的20名選手獲得9月16日在貝桑松進行比賽的資格，其中有3名來自台灣的青年指揮，分別是曾憲文、范楷西與吳曜宇。

9月17日，范楷西與吳曜宇進入1/4準決賽名單，9月18日24歲的吳曜宇和32歲匈牙利籍的霍羅克（HubaHollokoi）以及30歲德國籍的史坦寇 （Kiril Stankow）共同進入1/2準決賽名單，3人將要在21日競爭首獎。

現任NSO國家交響樂團音樂總監的呂紹嘉曾在1988年獲得首獎，最近3屆則是亞洲青年指揮家獲得首獎，分別是新加坡青年指揮Darrell Ang、日本的山田和樹（Kazuki Yamada）和垣內悠希（Yuki Kakiuchi），日本青年指揮家在這一賽事上已有7位首獎得主。
