側面防撞力主要取決於

1.車門所搭接的車體其強度--這是側撞抵抗的地基，車門防撞鋼樑承受的所有的力道都會藉由車身A.B.C柱搭接傳到車身上，所有動能最終必須由車體承擔，因此光是車門很硬還不夠

2.車門內的防撞鋼樑--從單樑到3樑以上都有，端視車型定位與可用成本(售價基礎)，一般是用560.980MPa以上的高張力鋼鈑或厚重的硼鋼管混和配置

至於車門厚度跟是否一體成形都無關防撞力

0.8mm薄板去沖出來的車門蒙皮是不會提高多少強度的，不過這麼做對車門防鏽力卻能提高很多(代價是要犧牲點良率跟增加點成本)

厚度也是，抵抗碰撞既然不是車門蒙皮的責任，那車門多厚就沒意義，真要看是看左右駕駛座與防撞鋼樑的距離，這段距離是防撞的變形緩衝空間，有些較大的撞擊防撞鋼樑跟車身一下吃不掉，車身會有明顯彈性至朔性變形的狀況，這段空間可以爭取些避免乘員被擠壓到的可能
