美國媒體報導，美軍不會在2015年提出F-16戰機航電系統升級計畫，連帶使得台灣F-16A/B戰機升級恐生變。

根據美國《國防新聞》周刊報導，根據多項消息來源指出，歐巴馬政府不會在2015年會計年度提出F-16戰機航電系統升級計畫(CAPES)，使得300架F-16戰機升級計畫喊卡，將預算轉為另一項研長F-16戰機服役壽限的計畫(SLEP)，以及其他載具的現代化作業。

CAPES核心項目是為F-16戰機換裝「主動電子掃描陣列」(Active Electronically-Scanned Array,AESA)雷達，這項計畫包括台灣144架F-16A/B型戰機，美國於2011年同意協助我國F-16A/B Block20戰機升級案，總金額37億美元。

《聯合晚報》引述軍方消息人士的話報導，我國F-16戰機升級案已完成簽約，進入分包階段，將不受影響，美軍升級案則是還在評估中。
