中興通訊ZTE是大陸手機製造商之一，根據Strategy Analytics 2013年第二季的數據顯示，中興已成為全球第四大智慧型手機製造商。這個月中興於美國正式和休士頓火箭隊簽約，成為球隊2013-2014賽季智慧型手機合作夥伴，今日（12）便與正到訪台灣的休士頓火箭隊總裁Tad Brown與當家前鋒Chandler Parsons一同現身，向台灣媒體宣佈彼此的合作關係。

中興通訊執行董事兼執行副總裁、手機產品經營部總經理何士友表示，之所以會選擇與休士頓火箭隊合作，是因為兩位華人球員姚明、林書豪都曾是他們的球員，在華人圈有相當知名度，大陸粉絲甚至認為休士頓火箭隊是NBA中的中國隊。雙方的合作關係，預期在美國、中國市場對品牌知名度都將有正面影響。

中興並預告將在15日正式宣佈與NBA聯盟在中國市場進行合作，成為NBA中國區為期3年的首席合作夥伴，同時發表全新ZTE Grand Memo 5S智慧型手機。Grand Memo 5S配備大螢幕、四核心處理器、杜比立體音效，將是首支融合NBA元素的手機，對年輕族群有一定吸引力，顯示中興正逐漸從以往B2B2C的市場戰略轉移至B2C。

透過與火箭隊的合作，中興通訊作為火箭隊的企業贊助商，除享有使用火箭隊標誌的行銷權、場內品牌展示等之外，亦會參與場內贈品活動及主場比賽的球迷互動遊戲。同時，中興也是火箭隊即將舉辦的「Blacktop Battle 」比賽協辦贊助商，並會積極參與「Season of Giving 」社區公益活動計畫。
