〈紐約郵報〉之前頭版報導田中將大到洋基的新聞，當天的頭版傳出臨時遭到撤換，原因是涉及一些敏感的歷史民族議題。

但後來這個頭版被拉掉，並以第一張圖取代，圖片很明顯涉及一些敏感的議題，〈Bronx Bomber〉是洋基另一個稱呼，但是日籍的田中將大，搭著轟炸機的圖片，不免讓人想起二戰往事，在美國，種族、民族歷史情結的議題都非常敏感。

雖然〈紐約郵報〉解釋，是要凸顯洋基〈Bronx Bomber〉的梗，但仍引起美國亞洲記者協會的不滿，寄信要求該報道歉，他們肯定換頭版的做法，但仍認為需要道歉，因為這會煽動一些過往仇恨情結。
