歸亞蕾20年前在《喜宴》中演出母親角色，徐立功當時也與李安合作成就該片，讓同性戀議題受到重視；20年後，歸、徐又合作，再拍《滿月酒》。歸亞雷拍《喜宴》時，首度接觸同性戀故事，不知如何面對，現在已能用平常心看待，徐立功說：「電影和大眾傳播工具有力量，可讓大家更深入探討同性戀議題。」
